I am ridiculously excited about the launch of this modest little website for a non-profit on a little island off the coast of Maine. The purpose of the website is to attract year-rounders to Isle au Haut, an island so beautiful that more than half of it belongs to Acadia National Park. There are only about 45 people living on “High Island” year-round (hundreds in the summer) which is only accessible by boat. It’s a fascinating place, with friendly, interesting people living on it.
Check out the slanted diagonal top nav ribbon, the all-over photo background that moves with the size of the browser window, the randomized “Good to Know” factoids that pop up every once in a while, and the footer that sticks to the bottom of the browser window.
Wonderfully programmed with a WordPress interface by my terrific coding partner, Otis of Example 7.
Who knows, maybe you could be the next full-time resident of this tiny island off the coast of Maine.
